BIO

Hi, I'm Mackenzie, I am originally from a small town in Maryland. I have always loved volunteering in the community and in high school began volunteering at my local hospital. It was a wonderful experience and I decided I would pursue a certified nursing assistant certification by enrolling in a health professional program alongside my high school classes. I was further encouraged by my experience as a CNA to pursue a nursing degree. I moved to Tampa to supplement my schoolwork with relaxing beach days while obtaining my Bachelors degree in Nursing. My nursing career then began working at the Veterans Hospital in Tampa where I became passionate about health promotion and prevention of chronic diseases through patient education. In 2017, I visited Colorado as a travel nurse and after falling in love with the mountains decided I had found my forever home. Over the last 8 years of nursing, I have been fortunate to work with a variety of patients from newborns to centenarians in medical, surgical, and intensive care settings. I am passionate about fostering physical and mental wellness through health promotion, education, and disease management and I am excited to take on an advanced role as a nurse practitioner. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending all my time in the mountains: hiking, climbing, biking, and snowboarding.
